Self-leadership Part one

Last week, we introduced the Seven C’s of Self-Leadership.  This week, we look at the first three.  These are the principles and practices of all entrepreneurial success.  To be a leader means being grounded and clear about what you stand for and where you are going. However, before you can effectively lead others, your clients for example, you must first develop your leadership skills.  The world is in need of strong leaders who can clarify the issues, take a stand, and willingly accept accountability for the results produced.  Below are the basics of developing leadership effectiveness and capability.

  1. Courage: the creative spark of the entrepreneur
    a.  What exactly, do you stand for?
    b.  What values do you represent?
    c.  What difference do you intend to make in the world?
    d.  Who are you, as defined by what you stand for?
    e.  Who you are and what you stand for is reflected in your business and your role in that business.
  2. Conviction
    a.  Believe that you are right in regard to the stand you take.
    b.  Be self-directed in your primary aim.
  3. Commitment
    a.  You must do something as a result of what you stand for.

To be a leader and an entrepreneur requires a special kind of person, who is determined to provide unparalleled results for their clients.

You must become very clear about what you really stand for and then go out into the world and make something happen!  Clarify your vision of the ideal future. Focus on the principles and practices required to make that vision a reality.  Then activate your plan.  Be accountable for the results you produce.  Be the leader that your clients are looking for.  Do it now!

Next week, part two, and three more of the Seven C’s of Self-Leadership.
