Powerful emotions
CNN’s Ali Velshi caught my attention, recently with this comment; “During all of my call-in shows, the overriding emotion was anger at what had been allowed to transpire, coupled with fear of the future.” This comment was from early March, before the current reports of the disaster in Japan and the uncertainty of our government’s ability to deal with the budget crisis. Everybody has a lot to worry about, wouldn’t you agree?
In our circle of influence, we help our clients deal with a rapidly changing and increasingly uncertain world. Many are angry that things, seemingly out of their control, are changing and plans that they made may not turn out the way that they had hoped for. Financial decisions need to be reconsidered. Additionally, lurking in the background is the greatest fear humans have; fear of the future. Remember my phrase to define this fear? It resolves to a simple question on the lips of everyone: “Will we be all right?”
