Self-Leadership Part two

Last week, we looked at the first three principles and practices of the Seven C’s of Self-Leadership.  This week let’s consider the next three.

4. Competence

a. You must be an expert in your field; know what you are doing and why.

b. Learn your craft and develop your skills for the greatest impact and positive results.

c. Strive to always be building on your skills and knowledge in your area of expertise.

d. Develop your skills and abilities to deliver unparalleled results in a consultative style.

5. Confidence

a. Go boldly into the world to make a difference in the lives of your clients and those you influence.

b. Courage, Conviction, Commitment, and Competence are the basis of your Confidence.

6. Contact

a. Commit to relentless activity in meeting people.

b. Use a carefully crafted Ideal Client Profile to qualify prospective new clients.

c. Be selective in your client acquisition.

These principles and practices are the keys to building your dream business.  You hold these keys and can use them in your own unique way to perform work that matters most — adding value to your clients.  Once you build a solid personal foundation, you will be on your way to fulfilling your true potential.  Take the time to get it right!

Next week, we will conclude this series with the seventh and final step in your approach to developing self-leadership and the business model to take you to the next level.  That step is Communication.  This is a skill that deserves its own post.  It is the practice that links you and your business to the hopes and dreams of your clients.  So watch for that seventh C!
